1. Who we are

CareerOS AI is operated by Maor Levi ("we", "us", "our"). For the personal data we collect through the Service, we act as the data controller. You can reach us at support@navigating-careers.com.

2. Personal data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, hashed password (or OAuth identifier), account preferences.
  • Profile and career data: information you enter such as work history, education, skills, career goals, resumes, job descriptions, and interview answers.
  • AI prompts and outputs: the inputs you submit to the AI features and the generated responses.
  • Support communications: messages you send us by email or in-app.
  • Usage and device data: log data, IP address, device and browser identifiers, pages visited, and feature interactions.
  • Order data: Paddle, our Merchant of Record, collects payment data directly from you; we receive limited order information (e.g. plan, status, billing country).

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Provide the Service (account creation, AI features, support) — performance of our contract with you.
  • Security and fraud prevention — our legitimate interest in keeping the Service safe.
  • Product improvement and analytics — our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the Service. We use aggregated or de-identified data wherever practical.
  • Service communications (account, billing, security) — performance of contract and legal obligation.
  • Marketing communications — only with your consent; you can opt out at any time.
  • Legal compliance — to comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.

4. Who we share data with

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers (database, file storage, CDN) acting as our processors.
  • AI model providers that process your prompts to generate responses, under contract and limited to providing the Service.
  • Email and analytics providers that help us deliver transactional emails and measure product usage.
  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, fraud prevention, and customer support.
  • Professional advisers (e.g. accountants, lawyers) where needed.
  • Authorities, where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

5. International transfers

Some of our processors are located outside your country, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes (e.g. order and invoice records retained by Paddle).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users have these rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR and may complain to their local supervisory authority. We will respond within one month of a verifiable request. 8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us of any suspected breach.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Service (e.g. authentication, security) and may use limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may break parts of the Service.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
